MECHANICAL BINDING* MAJOR TYPES: 
a) loose-leaf binding – using self-binders, files and similar mechanism; 
b) wire-o binding – bound with metal or plastic wire-o;  
c) various – fixed with screw, rope, or anything that could be put through a hole.

*mechanical binding hallmark – loose-leaf bound with mechanical devices through drilled or punched holes. Contents are easily replaced when they are mechanically bound especially well for single circulations, when wire-o binding is more often used for bigger quantities.
